I have taken several reset breaks lately and find I never return to ordinary life wanting the same pace as before. It reminds me that we weren’t created for nonstop activity and information. Thank you for this thoughtful piece.
You express the need for recalibration beautifully here, Kat. I've been in a low energy space with a cold. Nothing quite like your body clearing out to help you slow down. And life feels sweeter as a result.
I'm in the midst of this too! Though I struggle less with productivity shame now, and more with the worry of not being financially independent, as I can't rely on my parents forever. (They are both approaching their 70s.) I'm building my business slowly, but at least it's still growing, not stagnating.
It does help to reassure myself (my parents admitted this too) that most people my age are financially dependent on family or the government in some way. The folks who are financially independent and secure are rare, at least in my social circle for people in their 20s and 30s. (People in the mastermind are exceptional lol, so they are not by any means "most/ average" people, haha.) I'm already one of the lucky folks who aren't grinding it at a minimum wage or barely above minimum wage job that I hate.
Beautiful writing - thank you.
